Bourbon Street

A spirited, jazz-infused work inspired by the nightlife and energy of New Orleans, Bourbon St. blended classical ballet with the atmosphere of a live jazz club. Created in collaboration with a live band performing onstage, the ballet combined virtuosic dancing, theatrical flair, and social dance influences in a high-energy homage to the music and culture of the French Quarter. Set to the music of Louis Prima and the Barcelona Hot Angels, the work was created for Barcelona Ballet by Russell Ducker and Angel Corella, and was later reprised for the Red Rose Farm Festival.
