Capriccio
Created in collaboration with Opera Philadelphia and directed by Chas Rader-Shieber, Capriccio explored the relationship between music, theatre, and movement within Richard Strauss’s final opera. Integrated directly into the narrative was an original choreographed ballet sequence in which a dancer appears as part of the salon entertainment, momentarily transforming the opera into a living theatrical spectacle. Performed at the Perelman Theater, the production blended stylized choreography, opera, and visual storytelling within Strauss’s elegant meditation on the nature of art itself.
